With the economy being what it is these days a lot of people are struggling to make basic ends meet. Due to layoffs and other extenuating circumstances many families are struggling just to put food on the table, let alone indulge in extra luxuries, such as having their pet photographed.

The idea of not having any pretty pictures of beloved pet friends makes me ache and I have been wracking my brain over the holidays trying to come up with a way to help resolve this matter in some small way. So I am pleased to announce today the beginning of a new kind of monthly giveaway for 2013 that gives back, called “Pawsh Pictures.” This year I will be donating a free 1 hour pet photo session each month to somebody in the Toronto area with demonstrated financial need!

Perhaps you or your pet are ill. Perhaps you are busy working multiple jobs just to put food on the table and kibble in your pup’s bowl. Or maybe you are a devoted volunteer who always makes time to help those less fortunate despite wrestling your own financial frustrations. Share your story (or nominate a friend in need) and you’ll be entered to win a free (and fun!) pet photo session, complete with a CD of the final hi-res images!

I’m sorry to say this giveaway is only open to residents of the Toronto at this time, as that is where work demands most of my time these days and I will be personally shooting these pet sessions. But please don’t despair! I will do my best to arrange different cities in future too and there are lots of other fun giveaways and contests headed your way this year! I promise!

“Pawsh Pictures” is merely my way of lending a helping hand this year. After all, pets are priceless — their pictures can be too. Sessions are open to dogs, cats, horses, rabbits, birds and small critters.
