The number of incredible pet projects in the art world at the moment is outstanding! I spent a lovely few hours over the weekend discovering a lot of fantastic new works, such as this bold canine collection of illustrations from Lumadessa. The artist is John Brill and each print is a limited edition only. I would highly recommend popping over to view the rest of his amazing, reasonably priced work. This artist’s work is also wonderful and who could forget these spectacular pet paintings?

DID YOU KNOW…

Poodle coats (purebred and mixed alike) require a lot of care and attention to remain healthy. But did you know that…
…giving a poodle a bath at home can increase matts in their coat! Because the poodle coat is curly it retains more water and takes longer to dry. If the coat is not blow-dried and brushed straight after time spent in the tub it knots more easily resulting in matts. So be sure to commit to the bath, dry and brush if freshening up your poodle at home or instead invest in regular trips to a qualified groomer each season.
DOG FRIENDLY MUDROOM
Well the muddy paws have arrived and so has the inspiration to create a country-chic dog-friendly mudroom. Not only will revamping this space for canine comfort help keep your house a little cleaner this season, but it will entertain your dog too! All you need are a few essentials..
A comfy bed for your dog to rest after a good run outside is a must, as is a country-chic dinner/water dish for a quick snack. A couple of rattan baskets are ideal for tossing used towels after drying off pup or keeping outdoor play things safe and sound. And who could forget a few antique finished hooks for hanging leashes, as well as a trusty treat canister to help train your dog to stay put and a tasty chew toy to keep them busy while they dry. Who knew mud could look this good?
Get the look here:
1. Wipe Your Paws sign 2. Antique stain hooks 3. Hard antler chew 4. Town & Country treat tin
5. Boxer dog duvet 6. Urban country bowl 7. Rattan baskets
PS: Another great look for you and your pup on rainy days!
FILL IN THE BLANK… #PAWSHTHANKS
Canadian Thanksgiving is next Monday (October 8th!) It is my favourite holiday of the year, because the sentiment that surrounds it is simple and beyond beautiful. There are no gifts, no cards, no material elements, simply delicious food, even better company and an occasion to celebrate all that is good in your life.
Unlike our beloved dogs, I don’t think we take enough time to truly appreciate the positive things that surround us. It’s too easy to dwell on the negative and feel beaten by bad news. So I would like to ask for your help this year in commemorating the goodness.
This month’s ‘Pawsh Motto’ (and sorry last month was missed) is not complete. Should you wish, please download this FREE printable poster and fill in the blank with something that you are grateful for this year. It can be something big or something small, something serious or something that makes you laugh — the point is to recognize something that has made you happy this year and has made your world a better place to be.
Take a photo of your filled-in poster and email or TWEET or INSTAGRAM it to me with the hashtag #pawshthanks. I will be creating a special album showcasing all of our answers together to celebrate the good. I can’t wait to get started!
