One of the best sights in life is that of a person discovering the wonderful world of dogs for the first time. I never fail to tire of watching a curious baby and an equally curious dog make contact; the shocked yet delighted baby expression when a canine tongue brushes against their chubby arm, the excited yet delicate wag of a tail when that baby gurgles or reaches out for a fistful of hair — the entire interaction is enough to make you tear with joy.
I’m sad to say that I don’t actually remember my first dog meeting. However, having grown up with dogs my entire life I know that I was very young (only days old) and that my first canine introduction was to a lovely Airedale called Tee. It is a love that has lasted lifetime (how can you tell, right?) and I dearly wish I had a series of photos like the ones above that captured my growing infatuation with these four-legged friends.
So today I’m curious — what is your earliest dog memory? Or what is the best ‘first meeting’ between dog and baby that you’ve ever witnessed? I would love to hear from you either here or here! Have a great Tuesday everyone!
