Fatboy!

Fatboy is a revolutionary bean-bag style chair created by Finnish designer, Jukka Setala. This over-sized piece is easy to clean and extremely easy to relax in. Sink into a pillow of comfort and let the day’s worries fall away. Sounds positively blissful, doesn’t it?

The Fatboy Original became so popular that soon other versions were designed, including the Fatboy Junior for children and the Fatboy DoggieLounge. There is even a fabulous version for the feline in your life so that the entire family can ‘veg’ out together in comfort! Would this suit your lifestyle?

Pet bed + nightstand = a cup of tea!

Good morning everyone! My apologies for disappearing on Friday. I was feeling a tad under the weather and just didn’t have enough hours in the day to write anything for Pawsh. Sad face. I did however share some pretty hilarious pet videos over here. Kittens playing pat-a-cake? Need I say more?

This morning let’s chit-chat about decor. As you may know pet-friendly decor that is functional and pretty to look at is definitely on my ‘favourite things’ list and this indoor pet house and nightstand called ‘Hunde Hus’ from MadsHome certainly fits the bill!

Sometimes a person’s bedroom is small and if your pet isn’t allowed on the human bed, finding a place to put their slumber spot can be a challenge. Enter this dual action piece of furniture! It creates a little hideaway cave for pets to curl up in as well as a darling little terrace for the furry friend who likes to be out and about. Plus you still have a place to rest your cup of tea and favourite magazines or laptop (for your favourite online magazines!)

The handcrafted ‘Hunde Has’ is definitely being added to Pawsh’s home sense list. Would you consider bringing a multifunctional piece of furniture like this into your home?

PAWSH No. 4 Sneak Peek!

Well, it’s here! This is the sneak peek for our upcoming winter issue, Pawsh No. 4 entitled “Heart Song,” which will be released on January 23rd, 2012. This season’s cover was photographed by Montreal photographer, Simone Fauque, and beautifully captures the sentiments that will be expressed within the upcoming pages: love, friendship, compassion and empathy. We’ve dedicated our next issue to the exploration of the canine bond and the many aspects of joy that it brings for a lifetime. Needless to say we cannot wait to share the entire issue with you! This is the first time ever that two dogs have been featured on the cover and we love their ‘lovey-dovey’ expressions! Hope you do too! Happy Thursday everyone! xo

When to get a dog a sibling?

source

Have you ever stopped to watch your dog fall asleep on the floor or stare wistfully out of the window and wonder if they are day-dreaming of finding a canine friend? We all know that socialization is of the utmost importance for dogs, but there may come a time when you feel like a daily visit to the park or casual play-date with the neighbours’ pooch is no longer enough. There may come a day when you consider bringing a second dog into your family.

Having two dogs can be a great joy. They can become the best of friends, instant playmates and keep each other company when you have to work or run errands. In true pack-like fashion they can fall into the same routine, making care not all that more time-consuming for you and of course together they help to create double the memories.

However, before you bring a second pup home it is important to make sure that you have the financial means to care for the expense of two dogs and the space to exercise them on a regular basis. It is also a good idea to make sure your first fur-baby gets along well with other dogs; although you’ll probably have an excellent sense of this already from their other socializing activities.

The question is when are you, as an owner and devoted pet parent, ready for a second fur-ball? How did you know? I’d love to hear your thoughts and stories!
