Dog Eye Chart

How could these beautiful dog and cat eye-charts from Local Paper Studio not catch my eye? Listing in simple black and white pet style some of your animal’s favourite things, each poster is a playful spin on the concept of ‘I spy with my little eye.’

The studio recommends either print (which are made with vegetable inks and recycled paper) as an appropriate gift for your favourite veterinarian, but I’m thinking they would also look fantastic hanging in a pet-friendly office space! Here are a few other dog posters that Rory and I still can’t get enough of.

Adopt-a-Pet.com

via

In keeping with yesterday’s theme of adoption, I would like to share with you today some information about Adopt-a-Pet.com. This is a wonderful North American non-profit organization that helps shelters, rescue agencies and SPCAs advertise their homeless animals to potential adopters for free.

Their small close-knit team has coordinated huge rescue efforts in the past, even responding to help stranded animals during the Hurricane Katrina disaster in New Orleans. Their volunteers range from little kids with a love of pets to big name celebrities like Drew Barrymore and Kelsey Grammar, and I am pleased to say that Pawsh too is lending a helping hand by permanently installing one of Adopt-a-Pet’s interactive adoption search widgets in our “Pawsh Proudly Supports” section on our website.

This widget will allow you to search, at anytime, for animals who are up for adoption in Canada and America. Adoption is a matter that rests near and dear to my heart and it is a complete honour to be able to contribute in this small way to Adopt-a-Pet’s wonderful work. I hope you find the widget useful when it comes time to add another furry friend to your family.  Have you ever adopted a pet before? Where did you find them?

A romantic roundup

source

Yes, yes, the traditional Valentine’s colours and pink and red, but after seeing this stunning black and white pet style wedding on Style Me Pretty the monochromatic scheme suddenly seems far more fitting! It is bold, classic, modern and edgy all at once.

A romantic occasion that includes the fur-baby is always a brilliant idea in my books and one that is pulled together with stylish simplicity like this is even better! The modest black bow-tie, the beautifully used chalkboard, the elegant dress and the genuine canine grin play together gorgeously! How many of you wish this was your wedding too?  Today I am also fondly remembering these romantic occasions that flawlessly cater to the pet presence:

1.  A cute dog proposal.

2.  More vows with top hats, bouquets and dogs as the wedding party.

3.  A Valentine’s day dog party that proves canines make wonderful guests.

4.  A lovely dog wine to toast your loved one with.

5.  A heart-warming book that will leave giant smiles wherever it is read.

Do you have a romantic story or idea to share? I would love love LOVE to hear all about it if you do! With help from some friends, Rory and I are cooking up an exciting Valentine’s Day gift for you all, which will arrive here on Tuesday! xo

In the details

source unknown

Love is in the details to be sure, which is why this darling decorative detailing on an otherwise ordinary jar of biscuits has both Rory and I drooling (although I suspect Rory is more interested in the actual cookies!) All you need is a clean mason jar and a bit of pretty ribbon. Carefully tie the ribbon around the neck of the jar for an instant bit of va-voom! A lovely little present for your furry date this Valentine’s! If you would like to try your paw at making some homemade biscuits for the occasion, this dog treat recipe is always a hit; tried, tested and tasted by the Pawsh team!
