Walking is an important part of any pet parent`s daily routine, so dressing up a little bit is always a fun perk. Although there are thousands of different leash designs to choose from there are ultimately only two basic styles: the retractable and the traditional. The retractable leash is great for letting your dog having a little more freedom on the walk (especially for those pooches who bolt whenever off leash so can`t fully enjoy the park experience). On the other hand, the traditional leash usually offers a lovely linen-inspired texture and gentle grip. If you had to choose between the Grreat Choice Retractable Lead or the Harry Barker Wildflower Leash, which would you pick?

I use both styles and Jack seems to understand the difference: the retractable lead (with a harness, never with a collar) means that we’re going on Jack’s walk with time to sniff and putter, and the regular leash means that we’re going out on my agenda, and Jack is to pay attention and heed my requests. My joy is picking the leash and collar combination Jack will wear when we go out!
We have tried both and I much, much prefer the leash as opposed to the retractable lead. With a leash, you are able to loop it over your wrist to allow treating whilst training and it makes for an altogether more comfortable experience for the owner. My partner preferred the retractable lead but I’ve managed to persuade him otherwise now.
