REVIEW: CLOUD 7 SLEEPY DELUXE DOG BED

Contrary to popular belief, not all dog beds are equal. Every nap should feel like you are floating on a cloud and that is exactly what the fabulous Sleepy Deluxe Tweed Rose dog bed from Cloud 7 delivers! (We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again — why Pawsh adores Cloud 7.)

The elegant, contemporary design offers a beautiful look for any space in your home and creates a little pocket of comfort that your dog can call their own. Created from fair trade and eco-friendly practices, this bed truly caters to the animal lovers’ sense of responsible consumerism and provides impeccable quality for your pet.

The ultra-bolstered sides of this piece serve as a lovely place for your dog to rest their head — like a deluxe pillow. Meanwhile, the genuine leather handle allows for easy movement and adds a charming detail to the clean, sophisticated aesthetic. The mattress is specially designed to suit a dog’s physical sleeping pattern and the hemp-cotton mix cover is completely removable and machine washable! So even if pup pounces on this bed with mucky paws, it can easily be restored to pristine condition!

I have been living with this particular dog bed for a few weeks now and have been very impressed. From the moment Rory’s wet little nose discovered this bed amidst the bundle of packaging in which it arrived, she has been intrigued! I purposely used this opportunity to train young Rory not to sleep on my bed anymore and to my delight the luxurious feel of the Sleepy Deluxe Tweed Rose made it an easy, almost effortless, transition.

Without any encouragement at all, Rory flops down into her Sleep Deluxe Tweed Rose at night without any fuss and delights in squirming around in it to ‘nest.’ I keep the bedroom door closed during the day and when it is finally opened, Rory dashes straight for her bed, delighted to be able to hang out in it. (This has never happened before with any other dog bed we’ve tested to date). The fabric is very durable and soft to the touch and the cushions keep their shape even after being sat upon for several hours.

It is an all-around gorgeous product and I am happy to give it 5/5 tail wags! Be sure to take a peek at Cloud 7 and their impressive line of wonderful, ergonomic products. (Plus, keep your eyes on the blog this afternoon…you might find a little something up for grabs from this incredible shop!)

DOG TREAT RECIPE: SWEET POTATO NOTHINGS

Although the holidays are incredibly fun, they can also be — let’s admit it — a little frantic. This year treat your pup to something special without adding to Santa Paws’ to-do list by whipping up a batch of these easy and nutritious homemade dog biscuits.

These goodies have been dubbed ‘Sweet Potato Nothings,’ because they literally take almost nothing to make. Simply mix together three (that’s right, only three!) ingredients, slide into the oven and you’re done! Keep reading for the full recipe!

The Things You’ll Need

  • 1 medium sweet potato (you probably already have some on hand for Christmas dinner!)
  • 1/4 cup whole wheat all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup water (adjust measurement according to size of potato used)
  • mini-cupcake pan and mini-cupcake skirts

Directions
1.  Wash, peel and dice sweet potato; although you can leave the skins on if desired.
2.  Steam sweet potato until it is nice and soft, even a little mushy.
3.  Mash sweet potato in a bowl with a fork.
4.  Mix in flour and water at the same time to achieve a thick paste.
5.  Scoop mixture into mini-cupcake skirts and bake for 40 minutes at 350 until crisp and golden.
6.  Allow to cool then treat your pup!

Sweet potatoes are a natural anti-inflammatory food and are high in vitamin A, which is great for a dog’s diet. However, as with all potatoes, sweet spuds are quite high in starch. That’s why it is best to bake these treats as mini-cupcakes so that your pet doesn’t pack on the pounds! Also, remember, you can add additional ingredients to this recipe for added variety. Try diced tomatoes, shredded carrots and tuna juice to tantalize your dog’s tastebuds!

Try Sweet Potato Nothings over the holiday season!
