Today I thought I’d share my five favourite dog apps — smartly written programs that have been helping me to take care of my furchild and juggle a hectic schedule at the same time. I run with a Galaxy III (the only phone I’ve ever truly loved…and on a sidenote if anyone can direct me to some truly cute cases for it, please hollar!), but most of the apps that I use are available for iPhones too.

I’m always amazed by a dog’s constant optimism. No matter how many times we ask them to do something they may not want to do (let’s face it, ‘sit and stay’ is not nearly as much fun as running around and bouncing off the furniture) they will, because the promise of something good (in most cases a treat) lingers in the immediate future.

Of course, they can’t know for certain that a treat will be delivered, there is no way to know for certain. Yet they continually trust that good things will come. I think that’s rather profound and a sentiment that we should all strive to hold on to more routinely. No matter what is happening in your life, no matter what you are facing, good things WILL come. Just be patient.

Krystine May is the founder and lead designer of Babies and Beasts – an adorable Toronto-based clothing company specializing in dog and children’s outerwear. Inspired by her dashing French bulldogs, Tank and Pepper, Krystine has been the featured doggy designer at the 2011 Paws for the Cause Toronto charity event and has been featured on Pet Fashion (tv show) twice.

Things have come along way since November 2011 when Babies and Beasts first opened for business and will be appearing on Dragon’s Den this weekend. I chatted with Krystine about all of the excitement and here are her wonderful insights!
