I’m always amazed by a dog’s constant optimism. No matter how many times we ask them to do something they may not want to do (let’s face it, ‘sit and stay’ is not nearly as much fun as running around and bouncing off the furniture) they will, because the promise of something good (in most cases a treat) lingers in the immediate future.
Of course, they can’t know for certain that a treat will be delivered, there is no way to know for certain. Yet they continually trust that good things will come. I think that’s rather profound and a sentiment that we should all strive to hold on to more routinely. No matter what is happening in your life, no matter what you are facing, good things WILL come. Just be patient.
