Hooray for Weekends!

Does anybody else find that weekends are a catalyst for creativity? Maybe it’s because the work week is over and you get to blow of steam on Friday night. Maybe it’s because you get to sleep in on Saturday morning and enjoy a delicious home-cooked brunch on Sunday rather than boring old cereal. Whatever the reason, weekends are when some of the best ideas find you. Inspiration lurks in everything and without warning pounces, causing you to frantically scramble around for a pen and paper to capture that fleeting moment of brilliance and remember it for when Monday morning comes rolling around.

The pet community is all of a flutter with inspiration and creative souls, so much so that we don’t always get a chance to talk about every one of them during the week. So, voila! Our “Lovely Links” list, which will be coming to you every Friday afternoon to hopefully help spark your own creativity, showcase some pretty pet projects and some of our favourite finds over the past week!

1.  A new breed of pet was discovered! The Bunny-Russell from 3 Little Pooches!

2.  The fourth fabulous issue of Matchbook Magazine dropped where we were introduced to Fidel, an adorable Havenese pup who belongs to designer extraordinaire, Amanda Pearl.

3. A tribute to the ever lovely Audrey Hepburn made an appearance on Miles to Style. (It was Miss Hepburn’s birthday on Wednesday. Happy belated darling!)

4.  A soft and snugly dog blanket came in to our lives for extra mad cuddles!

5. An inspiring Happy Tails event from Hopeful Hearts will be happening this weekend to raise money for this wonderful rescue!

Hope you all have a truly inspired weekend! xo

Coat Crush!

In keeping with our Friday Fashion Files, the hunt is on for the perfect spring jacket! We have a major crush on RoverDog, a Toronto based company that caters to the next generation of dog owners. Moving away from the ‘uber cutesy’ in favour of a more refined classically tailored approach, RoverDog brings style and sophistication to your pup’s wardrobe. The best part, however, is that these garments are practical as well as as pretty!

Above you’ll find the Skipper Peacoat, the ideal attire for chilly mornings on the lake or playing fetch on the late afternoon beaches. Boasting a double-breasted velcro closure and midweight cotton twill this adorable look keeps out chilly winds but elicits chills of delight!

Then there is the Westerly Trench for those pups who prefer the elegant appearance of camel brown. This beauty is considered a belted trench (of course!) and has a harness belt closure too! How suave!
The Cabin Pea Coat although more appropriate for early winter days, can also translate well to the cooler start of spring. How sweet is the interior facing trimmed silver piping? A stunning look for any occasion!

The Spectator Jacket is for the modern day pup who has swag as well as wag. A smashing look for the elegant barbecue, night on the town or seaside wedding. All who see this style will be howling with approval!
Another great thing about RoverDog designs is that many of the styles are tailored and handmade to fit all sizes of pooch! From the itty-bitty to the extra large! For example take a peek at the Starboard Anorak, a great option for the water dog who loves nothing more than splashing around for fun!

We can’t get enough of these jackets or RoverDog in general! What occasions does your pup have for one of these fabulous designs? We think Rory would look great in the Westerly Trench for her day-to-day outings!

Wallpaper Take Two

Back in March we wrote about a wonderful wallpaper print that boasted dog silhouettes to make a striking decor statement (see post here). So we were thrilled to come across this whimsical print once again in the latest issue of RUE Magazine. It’s such a treat to see this fabulous wallpaper in a different setting. We especially love how the vibrant rouges and golds pop against the monochromatic colour scheme. Plus the matching doggie soap dish is a too-cute-to-be-true touch. Well done Rue for embracing this rather fetching decor choice! Now we’re dying to know — where would you put this wallpaper in your house?

Bunnies For Bunnies!

Can there be any greater delight than discovering a creative project so refreshing and so gosh darn darling that you literally squeal with joy? We think not. This was the reaction early this morning in the PAWSH office when we discovered Bunnies for Bunnies, a brilliant collaboration of cameras, bunnies and artistic vision. Twenty-two international artists collaborated on this project and all proceeds of this book will go to the House Rabbit Society to care for bunnies in need. An absolutely beautiful concept with beautiful results and a beautiful purpose. Be sure to check out the 15 page free preview and order your copy today!
